Training
LINC as the only NGO in the Republic working directly with women who identify as lesbian and bisexual has almost a 20 year history of providing supports and services to members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community. As part of these services LINC provides an LGBTI+ Awareness Programme to Health Professionals, social workers, community organisations, colleges, schools etc.
We are delighted to offer this half day practical LGBTI+ awareness training for those who work or volunteer with people and would like the skills to support LGBTI+ people.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of the workshop participants will have
• Become familiar with the current terminology and definitions
• Demonstrate an increased awareness of the issues and challenges that LGBTI+ people face
• Be confident in engaging and supporting LGBTI+ people
• Begin to develop a plan around how to create an LGBTI+ inclusive and safe environment
